Due to lack of availability of boat drivers ski club is CANCELLED for Saturday, August 13, 2011.
The Glen Echo Ski Club is re-establishing an active role for the residents of Glen Echo Lake in Charlton, MA. The club had been very active through the '80s and '90s with members competing in ski competitions primarily in slalom and jump and in ski shows. The mission of the ski club is to provide instructional opportunities to club members in a variety of water sports, while instilling water safety and proper boat etiquette. "GE Ski" started back up mid-summer 2010 and we are looking to expand our membership this year and get others involved. The club is in need of experienced boat drivers and skiers to be able to volunteer on a rotating basis to pull skiers and offer instruction. The format this upcoming summer will be a weekly club night on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings. It is hoped to be able to offer scheduled "clinics" on a different night or Saturday morning with a specific focus on such things as barefooting, slalom course, wakeboarding, etc. If you are interested in volunteering as a boat driver, please read the IMPORTANT INFORMATION on the boat drivers page of this website.
Equipment needs: Much of the skis and life jackets from the past ski club are unusable. We will be looking to purchase/repair equipment with club funds, however if anyone has skis, life jackets etc. that are in good condition that are no longer being used that you would like to donate to the ski club, please email us at glenechoski@gmail.com
